The information does not identify visitors to the Website. It is used to help administer and improve the Website.
We do not wish to collect information about visitors which is sensitive information as defined under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (‘Privacy Act’), being information or opinions about the visitor’s health, political affiliations, sexual preferences, religious beliefs, racial or ethnic origin or other such private information.
We are committed to the protection of your personal information and have developed this Privacy policy in line with the National Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act.

We will use all reasonable care to maintain the security of your personal information and to make the Website as secure as possible against unauthorised access of your personal information. Use and Disclosure of Your Personal Information
We use personal information to improve breast and ovarian cancer control by:
- analysing research and making it readily available to women and health professionals;
- developing, disseminating and encouraging the adoption of clinical guidelines to improve the diagnosis, treatment and support of women with breast and ovarian cancer;
- providing accurate and accessible information to well women, women with breast or ovarian cancer, primary care providers and breast cancer specialists; and
- developing a national monitoring system to provide information about all aspects of breast cancer.
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. However, we may disclose or share personal information with:
- the consent of the individual to whom the information relates;
- treating medical practitioners;
- other organisations that are involved in the fight against cancer; or
- third party contractors where we contract out any financial, administrative or other services,
provided that such disclosure is in compliance with the National Privacy Principles.
Where it is necessary for us to engage contractors to undertake services for us, we require that those contractors comply with the National Privacy Principles.
We will not transfer personal information to recipients outside of Australia except:
- with the consent of the individual to whom the information relates; or
- in compliance with the National Privacy Principles.
If you subsequently decide that you do not wish to receive information from any person to whom we have provided your personal information, please contact us with your request to be removed from our mailing list. We will remove your name within a reasonable period of receipt of notice.
Access, Amendment and Deletion of Your Personal Information
Please contact us to examine your personal information if required and we will be able to provide a complete list of your personal information within a reasonable period of receipt of your request unless such access is in breach of the National Privacy Principles. A fee may be charged by us and you will be notified of any such fee in advance.
You may contact us to amend any of your personal information that is inaccurate or request that your personal information be deleted. We will amend or delete your records as requested within a reasonable period of receipt of notice. If applicable, any legal requirement on us to maintain certain records of your personal information shall prevail over any of your requests.
